CHANGE… are you ready?

Hello to you all from a UK weekday that has at last brought a little rain!
I actually felt like going out and standing in it! 👍🌧️☺️

Achieving Optimal Health with Homeopathy

In the Northern Hemishpere, it is getting toward ‘that time of year…’ and ‘the start of things again’ after a few weeks of being off from the regular routines, schedules, work or normal management of day to day life…

I would actually like to point you towards my Sept 23 blog as I cover this well there: CLICK HERE TO READ

But if you do not have time now, there is nothing to lose! I will pass on my thoughts for this September in addition below.

I do a lot of work with children/teens who struggle with the education system and going back to school can be a HUGE challenge… so now is a time we are looking at what lies ahead and managing the angst and dread as much as possible… and working with both parents and children is often the most beneficial as it is a testing time for both parties!

IT’S ALL ABOUT PREPARATION!

Being prepared is always an approach that we try and become aware of in homeopathy.
…there is a difference between over-anticipating and a calm, thoughtful approach.
…there is also a difference in not dealing with things and then not being ready enough.

Past experiences and sometimes trauma, can often sway us back to stronger feelings of dread, fear, overwhelm than we need… so using some moments of quiet, clear thinking of what needs doing in preparation for the upcoming change is key! And exploring the art of letting go of old thought patterns is most helpful here too.

…and there are some wonderful homeopathic remedies to work on these aspects too.

  • Recognising and naming thoughts and emotions in ourselves and those around us, allowing them to come up and out rather than be pushed back down (we understand this as the Concept of Suppression in Homeopathy)

  • Enabling healthy and honest conversations in as positive a way as possible, and knowing when to pause and let each individual become aware of what they may have to take ownership of and work through themselves and with extra help. Drawing, expressive movement and general creativity are often helpful. Journaling and talking things through are also useful and well recognised methods to try.

  • Being resourceful in knowing the tools that will help us prepare to avoid the ‘lastminutedotcom’ approach. Understanding which of these tools and methods of preparation are best for us as individuals… one method may not work for all!

  • Working perhaps more slowly and gently at a manageable pace where baby steps can be taken, even one at a time, and the processing of all that needs doing can be achieved in a less overwhelming way.

  • Understanding and respecting the nervous system and supporting it at times of change is important… even in our diet, restful hours and routine. Minimising an over-stimulated nervous system is often the first and best bit of help we can give our bodies

…these processes all help towards resilience building and working through transition, which, after all, is a skill needed as much as possible for everyday life and all it’s various stages.

In the Southern Hemisphere, the start of Spring is showing and we may be in a more ‘awakening’ and less anticipatory mood. There is the increase of daylight, the rise in temperature as we emerge out of the winter cold, and the emerging of colour back into our natural surroundings… but there will still be preparation required to set things up for this new season and ‘Spring cleaning’ is often a big topic of conversation and action we relate to at this time of year!

  • We may recognise the need to use our bodies in a more physical way as the environment around us joins us in waking ourselves up out of a more hibernating state, so commonly preferred in the Winter months. Being mindful of not over-doing this change too quickly is important.

  • We may notice a physical response such as Hayfever as the pollens emerge and the often seasonal wind blows them around moreso at this time.

  • We may notice a change in our sleep patterns. Embracing this can be very uplifting, but if black out blinds are needed to induce better sleep for the hours your body needs, compared to the time dawn arises or dusk settles, then now is the time to get them out!

  • We may feel a lift in our spirits mentally as well as physically, and the ability to venture out more easily can be re-vitalising in itself. Opening our eyes to new ideas, and feeling motivated to introduce some new routines/boundaries is always beneficial.

HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES SUPPORT ALONGSIDE … in fact, they often can be noticed to be a positive trigger into managing CHANGE so much better!

I often refer to some favourite remedies:

Oak – A lovely grounding remedy. Helpful to keeping us in our lane when we need to focus and keep constant in adjusting to new routines etc.

Arg Nit – our wonderful remedy for Anticipatory anxiety, for social anxiety and helping to manage that escalating spiral of over thinking and negative or likely unrealistic thoughts.

Pulsatilla – For separation difficulties. Tearful and clingy moods. Also changeable behaviour, often with a hormonal aspect.

Ars Album – For the fear of our health, of managing order and detail of the things we need to prepare, often including OCD-type behaviour.

Passiflora – For bringing some calm into the day! Often most useful towards the end of the day, to bring raised emotions back into balance and in the hopes of a good night’s sleep ahead being achieved!  I often refer to this as ‘the night before Christmas’ remedy!

Mixed Pollens and Grasses (includes tree pollens) – For the allergic reactions to Spring/Hayfever… and even the Autumnal blowing of pollen debris from trees.

…and these are just a very few!

MANY PEOPLE SEE A HOMEOPATH ON A REGULAR BASIS, PARTICULARLY SEASONALLY, TO KEEP UP WITH MANAGING THEIR HEALTH PROACTIVELY AS WE GO THROUGH THE DIFFERENT PERIODS OF CHANGE EACH YEAR… do consider this.

Having the opportunity to talk things through and understand what may be going on within us as a result of things changing is very helpful – and I often see as being quite healing in itself!

And in a homeopathic appointment there is always time to do this… 👍💪🙂

I wish you well during the next few weeks and hope this has been a helpful read.

Please do get in touch if there is anything you would like to ask having read this blog.

Warmest Wishes,
Ali x
